Tihun Lok Pheli Ujiyari.
Your divine light is formless and all-pervading. Its radiance spreads throughout all three worlds, illuminating every corner of existence.
चौपाई 1 जय अम्बे गौरी मैया जय श्यामा गौरी।
तुमको निशदिन ध्यावत हरि ब्रह्मा शिव री॥
Jai Ambe Gauri Maiya Jai Shyama Gauri.
Tumko Nish Din Dhavat Hari Brahma Shiv Ri.
Victory to Ambe Gauri, victory to the dark and fair goddess! Vishnu, Brahma, and Shiva meditate upon you day and night, for you are the supreme power from which they draw their strength.
चौपाई 2 माँग सिंदूर विराजत टीको मृगमद को।
उज्जवल से दोउ नैना चन्द्रवदन नीको॥
Mang Sindoor Virajat Tiko Mrigmad Ko.
Ujjwal Se Dou Naina Chandravadan Niko.
Vermillion adorns your parting and musk tilak graces your forehead. Your two eyes are luminous and your moon-like face is beautiful beyond all description.
चौपाई 3 कनक समान कलेवर रक्ताम्बर राजत।
रक्तपुष्प गल माला कंठन पर साजत॥
Kanak Saman Kalevar Raktambar Rajat.
Raktapushp Gal Mala Kanthan Par Sajat.
Your form shines golden, draped in red garments. A garland of red flowers adorns your neck, making you resplendent as the embodiment of divine power and beauty.
चौपाई 4 केहरि वाहन राजत खड्ग खप्परधारी।
सुर-नर-मुनि-जन सेवत तिनके दुखहारी॥
Kehari Vahan Rajat Khadg Khappardhhari.
Sur-Nar-Muni-Jan Sewat Tinke Dukhhhari.
You ride upon a mighty lion and hold a sword and a skull cup. Gods, humans, and sages all serve you, and you remove the sorrows of all who seek your refuge.
चौपाई 5 कानन कुण्डल शोभित नासाग्रे मोती।
कोटिक चन्द्र दिवाकर राजत समज्योती॥

Kotik Chandr Divakar Rajat Samjyoti.
Earrings adorn your ears and a pearl graces the tip of your nose. The combined light of millions of moons and suns pales before your transcendent radiance.
चौपाई 6 शुम्भ-निशुम्भ बिदारे महिषासुर घाती।
धूम्र विलोचन नैना निशिदिन मदमाती॥
Shumbh-Nishumbh Bidare Mahishasur Ghati.
Dhumra Vilochana Naina Nishidin Madmati.
You slew the demons Shumbha, Nishumbha, and the mighty Mahishasura. With eyes like smoky fire, you are the intoxicating goddess who is celebrated day and night across the ages.
चौपाई 7 चण्ड-मुण्ड संहारे शोणित बीज हारे।
मधु-कैटभ दोउ मारे सुर भयहीन कारे॥
Chand-Mund Sanhar Shonit Bij Hare.
Madhu-Kaitabh Dou Mare Sur Bhayhin Kare.
You destroyed Chanda and Munda, and slew the demon Raktabija whose every drop of blood spawned a new demon. You also killed Madhu and Kaitabha, freeing the gods from all fear.
चौपाई 8 ब्रह्माणी रुद्राणी तुम कमला रानी।
आगम-निगम-बखानी तुम शिव पट्टरानी॥
Brahmani Rudrani Tum Kamala Rani.
Agam-Nigam-Bakhani Tum Shiv Pattrani.
You are Brahmani, Rudrani, and the queen of Kamala (Lakshmi). The Vedas and sacred scriptures praise you as the beloved queen consort of Lord Shiva himself.
चौपाई 9 अगम्य अपार तुम्हरा अन्त नहीं पायो।
त्रिभुवन पार हो तुम महिमा अधिक छायो॥
Agamya Apar Tumhara Ant Nahin Payo.
Tribhuvan Par Ho Tum Mahima Adhik Chhayo.
You are unreachable and boundless — no one has found your end. Beyond the three worlds, your glory spreads even wider, encompassing the entire cosmos and beyond.
चौपाई 10 शरणागत शरणम् दे दीनन की तू माई।
भक्त जनों की तू माँ विपद हरनहारी॥
Sharanaagat Sharanam De Dinan Ki Tu Mai.
Bhakt Janon Ki Tu Maan Vipad Haranhari.
You give refuge to all who seek your shelter, O Mother of the poor and helpless. You are the mother of devotees and the one who dispels all calamities and dangers.
चौपाई 11 भुजा चार अति शोभित खड्ग त्रिशूलधारी।
मन वांछित फल पावत सेवत नरनारी॥
Bhuja Char Ati Shobhit Khadg Trishuldhhari.
Man Wanchhit Phal Pawat Sewat Narnari.
Your four arms shine gloriously, holding a sword and trident. Men and women who serve you receive the fulfillment of all their heartfelt wishes and desires.
चौपाई 12 कृपा करहु महामाया अब रहु न दूर।
शरण गहेउ तुम्हारी माँ हो कर मजबूर॥
Kripa Karahu Mahamaya Ab Rahu Na Door.
Sharan Gahehu Tumhari Maan Ho Kar Majboor.
O Mahamaya, shower your grace and do not remain distant from me. Helplessly, I have taken your shelter, O Mother — do not abandon this child of yours.
चौपाई 13 जहाँ भी जाऊँ तू माँ रखना अपना साया।
भक्त की रक्षा करना यही तेरी माया॥
Jahan Bhi Jaun Tu Maan Rakhna Apna Saya.
Bhakt Ki Raksha Karna Yahi Teri Maya.
Wherever I go, O Mother, keep your protective shadow over me. Protecting devotees is the divine play (maya) that you enact — it is the very expression of your motherly love.
चौपाई 14 चौंसठ योगिनि मंगल गावैं।
नृत्य करत भैरव मन भावैं॥
Chaunsath Yogini Mangal Gaven.
Nritya Karat Bhairav Man Bhaven.
The sixty-four Yoginis sing auspicious songs in your court. Bhairava dances in joy, delighted to serve in the divine court of the supreme mother goddess.
चौपाई 15 बाजत ताल मृदंग सुहावन।
जोगी ध्यान धरें मन पावन॥
Bajat Tal Mridang Suhawan.
Jogi Dhyan Dharen Man Pawan.
Cymbals and drums play melodiously in your divine court. Yogis meditate upon you with pure minds, seeking the ultimate liberation that only you can grant.
चौपाई 16 हरि ब्रह्मा रुद्र तेरे दासा।
बसैं सदा तेरी पास पासा॥
Hari Brahma Rudr Tere Dasa.
Basen Sada Teri Pas Pasa.
Vishnu, Brahma, and Rudra (Shiva) are your servants. They always remain near you, surrounding you in eternal devotion as expressions of your own divine power.
चौपाई 17 जय जय माँ वरदाये शक्ति।
सुख सम्पति दे मुझ पर भक्ति॥
Jai Jai Maan Vardaye Shakti.
Sukh Sampati De Mujh Par Bhakti.
Victory, victory to you, O Mother, the bestower of boons and the embodiment of Shakti! Grant me happiness, prosperity, and above all, unwavering devotion to your feet.
चौपाई 18 विन्ध्याचल निवासिनि माया।
आदि शक्ति जगत की छाया॥
Vindhyachal Nivasini Maya.
Adi Shakti Jagat Ki Chhaya.
O Vindhyavasini, she who dwells in the Vindhya mountains, you are the great illusion (Maya). As the primordial Shakti, you are the very shadow and substance of this entire world.
चौपाई 19 गंगा सिंधु सरस्वती जमुना।
तुम्हीं से उत्पन्न सकल धरिना॥
Ganga Sindhu Saraswati Jamuna.
Tumhin Se Utpanna Sakal Dharina.
The Ganga, Sindhu, Saraswati, and Yamuna sacred rivers — all the holy waters of the earth originate from you. You are the source of all that nourishes life on this world.
चौपाई 20 प्रणवाक्षर में तू समाई।
भक्त जनों की तू माँ भवाई॥
Pranavakshar Men Tu Samai.
Bhakt Janon Ki Tu Maan Bhawai.
You are contained within the sacred syllable Om (Pranava), the primordial sound of creation. You are the mother who ferries devotees safely across the ocean of worldly existence.
चौपाई 21 चाहैं मोक्ष तुम्हें भजैं तेरे।
जन्म मरण के दुःख हरे॥
Chahen Moksh Tumhen Bhajen Tere.
Janm Maran Ke Dukh Hare.
Those who desire liberation worship you and sing your praises. You remove the sorrows of the cycle of birth and death, guiding souls toward final freedom.
चौपाई 22 ध्यान धरे जो नित तेरा माई।
वो पावे सुख तेरी कृपाई॥
Dhyan Dhare Jo Nit Tera Mai.
Wo Pawe Sukh Teri Kripai.
Whoever meditates upon you daily, O Mother, attains happiness through your grace. Your merciful gaze upon a devotee is itself the greatest gift of divine love.
चौपाई 23 तुम हो जगत की माँ त्रिपुरारी।
सृष्टि पालिनी तुम सुखकारी॥
Tum Ho Jagat Ki Maan Tripurari.
Srishti Palini Tum Sukhkari.
You are the mother of the universe and the destroyer of the three cities of evil. You are the nurturer of creation and the ultimate source of all happiness and well-being.
चौपाई 24 दुर्गा सप्तशती पाठ करावे।
विघ्न हरे नव निधि घर आवे॥
Durga Saptashati Path Karave.
Vighna Hare Nav Nidhi Ghar Awe.
Reciting the Durga Saptashati removes all obstacles and brings the nine divine treasures into one's home — such is the immense potency of your sacred texts and your grace.
चौपाई 25 भक्त जनों पर कृपा दिखाओ।
संकट हरो स्वयं आ जाओ॥
Bhakt Janon Par Kripa Dikhao.
Sankat Haro Swayam Aa Jao.
Show your grace upon your devotees and come yourself to remove their troubles. A mother does not wait for formal invitation — she runs to her child in distress.
चौपाई 26 देवी प्रसन्न होवे अब माई।
भक्त के मन वांछित फल पाई॥
Devi Prasann Howe Ab Mai.
Bhakt Ke Man Wanchhit Phal Pai.
May the goddess be pleased now, O Mother! Let the devotee receive the fruit of his heart's desire through your benevolent and loving grace.
चौपाई 27 नवरात्र में पूजा सजावैं।
कन्या भोजन नित करवावैं॥
Navratr Men Puja Sajaven.
Kanya Bhojan Nit Karavaven.
During the nine nights of Navratri, devotees adorn the puja with great care. The sacred tradition of feeding young girls (Kanya Puja) as living forms of the goddess is performed with love.
चौपाई 28 जय शक्ति जय जगत माता।
सब विध रक्षा करो विधाता॥
Jai Shakti Jai Jagat Mata.
Sab Vidh Raksha Karo Vidhata.
Victory to Shakti, victory to the Mother of the Universe! O divine creator and sustainer, protect me in every way and at every moment of my existence.
चौपाई 29 अम्बे मात की जय बोलो।
नित्य प्रति उठ शीश नवाओ॥
Ambe Maat Ki Jai Bolo.
Nitya Prati Uth Shish Nawao.
Cry out "Victory to Mother Amba!" Rise each day and bow your head in reverence before this great and compassionate mother who holds the entire cosmos in her arms.
चौपाई 30 दुर्गा चालीसा जो नर गावे।
ताहि सदा सुख संपत्ति पावे॥
Durga Chalisa Jo Nar Gawe.
Tahi Sada Sukh Sampatti Pawe.
Whoever sings this Durga Chalisa always attains happiness and prosperity. The goddess's grace flows continuously upon those who praise her with a devoted heart.
चौपाई 31 देवीदास शरण में आया।
दुर्गा माँ ने आकर लिटाया॥
Devidaas Sharan Men Aaya.
Durga Maan Ne Aakar Litaya.
The devotee has come seeking your shelter, O Durga Ma. The divine mother herself comes forth and gently takes her child into her lap with infinite tenderness and care.
चौपाई 32 बाधा विपदा दूर भगाओ।
भक्त की नैया पार लगाओ॥
Badha Vipada Duur Bhagao.
Bhakt Ki Naiya Par Lagao.
Drive away all obstacles and calamities. O Mother, steer the devotee's boat safely across the treacherous ocean of worldly existence to the shore of liberation.
चौपाई 33 माँ का नाम जो नित्य जपावे।
रोग शोक कलिमल सब नशावे॥
Maan Ka Nam Jo Nitya Japawe.
Rog Shok Kalimal Sab Nashawe.
Whoever chants the Mother's name daily destroys all disease, sorrow, and the impurities of the Kali Yuga. Her name is a purifying fire that burns away all negativity.
चौपाई 34 शेर पर सवार शूल हस्त।
दुष्टों का नाश करे मस्त॥
Sher Par Sawaar Shool Hast.
Dushton Ka Nash Kare Mast.
Mounted on her lion and holding a trident, she destroys evil-doers with joyful, absolute authority. No wickedness can stand before her terrifying and magnificent power.
चौपाई 35 नव दुर्गा नव रूप दिखाओ।
भक्त के हृदय में तुम आओ॥
Nav Durga Nav Roop Dikhao.
Bhakt Ke Hriday Men Tum Aao.
Show your nine forms as the Navadurga (nine aspects of Durga). Come into the heart of your devotee and fill that sacred space with your divine presence and love.
चौपाई 36 शैलपुत्री ब्रह्मचारिणी माँ।
चंद्रघंटा कूष्मांडा माँ॥
Shailputri Brahmacharini Maan.
Chandraghanta Kushmanda Maan.
O Mother as Shailputri (daughter of the mountain), as Brahmacharini (the ascetic), as Chandraghanta (the bell-wearing lunar goddess), and as Kushmanda (creator of the universe)!
चौपाई 37 स्कंदमाता कात्यायनी देवी।
कालरात्रि महागौरी मेवी॥
Skandamata Katyayani Devi.
Kalratri Mahagauri Mewi.
O Mother as Skandamata (mother of Skanda), as Katyayani (born of sage Katyayana), as Kalaratri (the dark night), and as Mahagauri (the supremely fair one)!
चौपाई 38 सिद्धिदात्री नव रूप विराजे।
नव रात्रि में सब दुःख भाजे॥
Siddhidatri Nav Roop Viraje.
Nav Ratri Men Sab Dukh Bhaje.
As Siddhidatri (bestower of all siddhis), you preside in nine glorious forms. During Navratri, all sorrow flees before your luminous presence and your devotees' sincere worship.
चौपाई 39 दुर्गा चालीसा पाठ सुनावे।
ताहि सदा माँ दर्शन पावे॥
Durga Chalisa Path Sunave.
Tahi Sada Maan Darshan Pawe.
Whoever recites or listens to this Durga Chalisa always receives the blessed sight of the Mother. Her darshan (divine vision) brings the highest fulfillment a soul can experience.
