Vishnu Priya Vishnu Ki Chhaya.
Tumse Prakti Sakal Maya.
You are the beloved of Vishnu and his very shadow and power. All of maya (cosmic illusion) and the diversity of creation emanates from you — you are the creative energy behind existence.
चौपाई 3 पद्मासना पद्मधारिणी।
शंख चक्र गदा धारिणी॥
Padmasana Padmadhharini.
Shankh Chakra Gada Dhharini.
You sit upon a lotus throne and hold lotus flowers in your hands. You also bear the conch, the discus, and the mace — divine weapons that demonstrate your supreme power alongside Vishnu.
चौपाई 4 क्षीरसागर में तुम विराजो।
भक्त हृदय में नित्य विराजो॥
Kshirsagar Men Tum Virajo.
Bhakt Hriday Men Nitya Virajo.
You dwell in the ocean of milk (Kshira Sagara) with your lord Vishnu. Yet also dwell perpetually in the hearts of your devotees — for you are as close as one's own heartbeat.
चौपाई 5 कमल नयनी कमल वासिनी।
सुर नर मुनि मन मोहिनी॥
Kamal Nayani Kamal Wasini.
Sur Nar Muni Man Mohini.
You have lotus eyes and dwell in the lotus. You enchant the minds of gods, humans, and sages alike — your beauty and grace are beyond all earthly description.
चौपाई 6 अम्बर पीत दिव्य धारे।
गजराज ने जल सींचा प्यारे॥
Ambar Pit Divya Dhare.
Gajraj Ne Jal Sinncha Pyare.
You are draped in divine yellow (gold) garments. The great elephant Gajendra anointed you with sacred water — this scene of Gaja Lakshmi is one of the most beloved in all of tradition.
चौपाई 7 अष्ट लक्ष्मी का रूप सुहावन।
जग को देती सुख पावन॥
Asht Lakshmi Ka Roop Suhawan.
Jag Ko Deti Sukh Pawan.
You shine in your eight beautiful forms as the Ashtalakshmi (eight Lakshmis). To this world you give pure and sacred happiness — material, spiritual, and everything between.

विद्या लक्ष्मी सुख सम्पदाई॥
Aadi Lakshmi Dhan Lakshmi Mai.
Vidya Lakshmi Sukh Sampadai.

Lakshmi Ka Hota Shubh Pravesha.
Diwali night is the most special of all nights for Lakshmi worship. Goddess Lakshmi is believed to visit every home that night, blessing it with prosperity and light.
चौपाई 13 घर द्वार लीपकर सजाओ।
दीप जलाकर माँ को बुलाओ॥
Ghar Dwar Lipkar Sajao.
Deep Jalakar Maan Ko Bulao.
Clean and decorate your home and threshold. Light the lamps and invite the Mother Lakshmi to enter — she comes only where there is cleanliness, order, and sincere devotion.
चौपाई 14 धूप दीप नैवेद्य चढ़ावो।
नित्य पूजा करके सुख पावो॥
Dhoop Deep Naivedya Chadhavo.
Nitya Puja Karke Sukh Pavo.
Offer incense, lamps, and food (naivedya) to the goddess. By performing her worship daily, one receives genuine happiness — not just wealth, but the joy that comes with divine grace.
चौपाई 15 कमल का फूल प्रिय तुम्हें माई।
खीर मिठाई भोग लगाई॥
Kamal Ka Phool Priya Tumhen Mai.
Khir Mithai Bhog Lagai.
The lotus flower is especially dear to you, O Mother. Sweet rice pudding (kheer) and confections offered as naivedya are lovingly accepted — these traditional offerings express a devotee's heartfelt love.
चौपाई 16 तुलसी दल चढ़ाए मन भाए।
लक्ष्मी प्रसन्न होकर आए॥
Tulsi Dal Chadhae Man Bhae.
Lakshmi Prasann Hokar Aae.
Offering Tulsi (holy basil) leaves delights the goddess's heart. Lakshmi becomes pleased and comes willingly to the home where both Lakshmi and Vishnu (associated with Tulsi) are honored.
चौपाई 17 मंत्र जाप श्री महालक्ष्मी।
नाम स्मरण से धन की गृहलक्ष्मी॥
Mantra Jaap Shri Mahalakshmi.
Nam Smaran Se Dhan Ki Grihalakshmi.
Chanting the mantra of Shri Mahalakshmi and continuously remembering her name brings the prosperity of the household Lakshmi into one's home — abundance becomes a permanent guest.
चौपाई 18 लक्ष्मी जी कर दो कृपा दाई।
संपत्ति मिले और सुख आई॥

Sampatti Mile Aur Sukh Aai.
O Lakshmi, bestow your grace upon me. May prosperity come my way and may true happiness arrive and remain permanently in my life and in my family's home.
चौपाई 19 रिद्धि सिद्धि घर में आवे।
नव निधि की धारा बहाए॥
Riddhi Siddhi Ghar Men Awe.
Nav Nidhi Ki Dhara Bahawe.
Let Riddhi (prosperity) and Siddhi (accomplishment) enter my home. May the stream of the nine divine treasures (Nav Nidhi) flow freely and abundantly in my household.
चौपाई 20 दरिद्रता को दूर भगाओ।
धन धान्य घर में भर जाओ॥
Daridrata Ko Door Bhagao.
Dhan Dhanya Ghar Men Bhar Jao.
Drive poverty far away from my door. Let wealth and grain fill my home completely — grant me the material abundance that allows me to serve others and live with dignity.
चौपाई 21 मन वांछित फल दो माई।
संकट से करो सहाई॥
Man Wanchhit Phal Do Mai.
Sankat Se Karo Sahai.
Give me the fruit of my heart's desire, O Mother. Come to my aid in times of trouble and crisis — for a mother never abandons her child when they call in genuine need.
चौपाई 22 माँ लक्ष्मी के भक्त हो जावे।
दरिद्र कभी न रहे पावे॥
Maan Lakshmi Ke Bhakt Ho Jawe.
Daridr Kabhi Na Rahe Pawe.
Whoever becomes a devotee of Mother Lakshmi never remains in poverty. Her grace ensures that sincere worshippers always have what they need and are free from material want.
चौपाई 23 विद्या बुद्धि बल और काजा।
लक्ष्मी दे जब करे विराजा॥
Vidya Buddhi Bal Aur Kaja.
Lakshmi De Jab Kare Viraja.
Knowledge, wisdom, strength, and the ability to accomplish one's work — Lakshmi bestows all these when she is pleased and takes her seat in the devotee's life and home.
चौपाई 24 सिन्धु पुत्री तू विष्णु भामिनी।
जग पालिनी जग कामिनी॥
Sindhu Putri Tu Vishnu Bhamini.
Jag Palini Jag Kamini.
You are the daughter of the ocean and the beloved wife of Vishnu. You are the nurturer of the world and the one whom the entire world desires and prays to for fulfillment.
चौपाई 25 कोकिला कूक सुनाई माई।
सब के मन में प्रीत जगाई॥
Kokila Kook Sunai Mai.
Sab Ke Man Men Prit Jagai.
O Mother, your voice is as sweet as the cuckoo's song. You awaken love and devotion in the hearts of all who hear your name and meditate upon your gracious form.
चौपाई 26 नारायण की तुम हो शक्ति।
जगत का हो पालन रक्ति॥
Narayan Ki Tum Ho Shakti.
Jagat Ka Ho Palan Rakti.
You are the very power (Shakti) of Lord Narayana (Vishnu). The nurturing and sustaining of the entire creation is accomplished through your divine energy flowing through existence.
चौपाई 27 मन वचन कर्म करो पूजाई।
लक्ष्मी माँ की मिलती सहाई॥
Man Vachan Karm Karo Pujai.
Lakshmi Maan Ki Milti Sahai.

चौपाई 29 जग में हो यश कीर्ति हमारी।

Lakshmi Maan Karo Sahkari.
May we have fame and good reputation in the world. O Mother Lakshmi, be our companion and helper so that our endeavors bring honor and success in this life.
चौपाई 30 पुत्र पौत्र से घर भर जाओ।
कुल की रक्षा मैया करो॥
Putr Pautr Se Ghar Bhar Jao.
Kul Ki Raksha Maiya Karo.
Fill my home with children and grandchildren. O Mother, protect our entire family lineage and let the blessing of a happy, extended family be ours under your watchful grace.
चौपाई 31 सेवा भक्ति करते रहो नित।
देती माँ सुख धन अमित॥
Sewa Bhakti Karte Raho Nit.
Deti Maan Sukh Dhan Amit.
Keep serving her and practicing devotion ceaselessly day after day. Mother Lakshmi gives limitless happiness and wealth to those whose devotion is steady and consistent.
चौपाई 32 आलस्य छोड़ो उद्यम करो।
लक्ष्मी माँ का आशीर्वाद लो॥
Aalas Chhodo Udyam Karo.
Lakshmi Maan Ka Ashirwad Lo.
Abandon laziness and apply yourself to diligent effort. Take the blessing of Mother Lakshmi — for she blesses hard work and righteous effort, not passivity and sloth.
चौपाई 33 जो लक्ष्मी चालीसा गावे।
धन संपत्ति सब कुछ पावे॥
Jo Lakshmi Chalisa Gawe.
Dhan Sampatti Sab Kuchh Pawe.
Whoever sings this Lakshmi Chalisa receives wealth, prosperity, and the fulfillment of all material needs. The goddess's grace flows generously to the devotee who praises her in song.
चौपाई 34 माँ लक्ष्मी की भक्ति जो करते।
कोई संकट उन्हें न घेरते॥
Maan Lakshmi Ki Bhakti Jo Karate.
Koi Sankat Unhen Na Gherante.
Those who practice devotion to Mother Lakshmi are not encircled by any trouble or crisis. Her divine protection forms an impenetrable shield around sincere worshippers.

ताहि न दुःख कोई तकलीसा॥
Jo Nitya Path Kare Chalisa.
Tahi Na Dukh Koi Taklisa.
Whoever reads this Chalisa daily shall never face sorrow or distress. Lakshmi's blessings are like a permanent canopy of grace over those who praise her faithfully.
चौपाई 38 शुक्रवार व्रत रखें जो कोई।
लक्ष्मी जी का प्रेम मिल सोई॥
