Victory to Surya Dev, destroyer of the fear of worldly existence! O Aditya, you dissolve the sorrows of the world with your divine radiance and life-giving energy.
चौपाई 2 सप्त-अश्व रथ पर आते।
त्रिभुवन में उजाला लाते॥
Sapt-Ashwa Rath Par Aate.
Tribhuvan Mein Ujala Late.
You come riding your chariot pulled by seven horses, each representing the seven colors of sunlight. You bring illumination to all three worlds — driving away the darkness of ignorance and night.
चौपाई 3 अरुण-सारथि रथ चलाते।
उषा की बेला में आते॥
Arun-Sarathi Rath Chalate.
Usha Ki Bela Mein Aate.
Your charioteer is the red-hued Aruna, who drives the chariot of dawn. You arrive at the auspicious hour of Usha (the first light) filling the sky with the rose and gold of creation's daily renewal.
चौपाई 4 कमल-नयन कनक-स्वरूपा।
तेज-प्रताप अपार अनूपा॥
Kamal-Nayan Kanak-Swaroopa.
Tej-Pratap Apar Anoopa.
Your eyes are like lotuses, your form is like shining gold. Your radiance and divine power are boundless and incomparably beautiful — no poet can fully describe the glory of your light.
चौपाई 5 आरोग्य दाता भव-भय-हारी।
भक्तों के तुम हो हितकारी॥
Arogya Data Bhav-Bhay-Hari.
Bhakton Ke Tum Ho Hitkari.
You are the bestower of health and the destroyer of worldly fear and suffering. You are the well-wisher of all devotees, giving the body what it needs to be strong and the mind what it needs to be clear.
चौपाई 6 नेत्र-ज्योति तुमसे पाते।
आँखों के रोग दूर भाते॥
Netra-Jyoti Tumse Paate.
Ankhon Ke Rog Door Bhaate.
From you we receive the gift of clear eyesight and eye health. Diseases of the eyes are believed to be cured through regular worship of and sungazing (in the early morning) to the Sun God.
चौपाई 7 त्वचा-रोग का नाश करो।
देह में ओज-तेज भरो॥
Twacha-Rog Ka Nash Karo.
Deh Mein Oj-Tej Bharo.
Destroy skin diseases and ailments. Fill our bodies with vitality and radiant energy — for the sun's early morning rays are known to heal the skin and charge the body with the energy needed for a full, active life.

You are the center of the universe. You are the king of all planets and stars — all nine grahas (planets) of Vedic astrology draw their power and ability to function from your supreme, central light.
चौपाई 12 सूर्य-नमस्कार जो करें।
तन-मन-आत्मा शुद्ध हो जाएँ॥

Tan-Man-Atma Shuddha Ho Jayen.
Whoever performs Surya Namaskar (sun salutations) at sunrise receives the triple purification of body, mind, and soul. This ancient practice is simultaneously yoga, prayer, and a living communion with the divine.
चौपाई 13 मकर-संक्रांति पावन दिन।
तिल-दान-स्नान शुभ नवीन॥
Makar-Sankranti Pavan Din.
Til-Daan-Snaan Shubh Navin.
Makar Sankranti — when the sun enters Capricorn — is the sacred day of solar renewal. Bathing in sacred rivers, donating sesame seeds, and sun worship on this day are deeply auspicious and spiritually powerful.
चौपाई 14 सूर्यवंशी राम भगवान।
तुम्हारे कुल के शोभा-पान॥

Tumhare Kul Ke Shobha-Pan.
Lord Rama himself was Suryavanshi — born in the solar dynasty that traces its lineage to you. The entire solar line of kings drew its glory, valor, and righteousness from your divine bloodline.

दान-वीर तुम से मिला सूत्र॥

Daan-Veer Tumse Mila Sutra.
The great warrior Karna was your son, born of your union with Kunti. From you he inherited his incomparable valor and, most of all, his legendary generosity — the trait that made him the greatest donor in all of the Mahabharata.
चौपाई 16 हनुमान ने गुरू माना।
शास्त्र-विद्या का ज्ञान जाना॥
Hanuman Ne Guru Mana.
Shastra-Vidya Ka Gyan Jana.
Lord Hanuman accepted you as his guru. It is said that Hanuman traveled to you, the Sun, and received from you the complete knowledge of all the scriptures and military arts, becoming omniscient through your grace.
चौपाई 17 नव-ग्रह के तुम राजा हो।
शनि-मंगल तुम्हारे बाजा हो॥
Nav-Grah Ke Tum Raja Ho.
Shani-Mangal Tumhare Baja Ho.
You are the king of all nine planets. Saturn (Shani) and Mars (Mangal), though powerful in their own right, are parts of your divine cosmic orchestra — all planets ultimately revolve around your supreme authority.
चौपाई 18 शनि तुम्हारे पुत्र विख्यात।
कर्म-न्याय के वे विधाता॥

पश्चिम दिशा में अस्त होते॥
Poorva Disha Se Uday Hote.
Pashchim Disha Mein Ast Hote.
You rise in the east, awakening the world to a new day of opportunity. You set in the west, gently drawing the world into the rest and introspection of night — governing the eternal rhythm of creation.
चौपाई 20 प्रकृति की सब क्रिया जारी।
तुम्हारी ऊर्जा से सब भारी॥
Prakriti Ki Sab Kriya Jari.
Tumhari Urja Se Sab Bhari.
All processes of nature continue because of you. Every living thing — the plant, the animal, the human, the rain, the seasons — is charged and sustained by the energy you pour ceaselessly upon the earth.
चौपाई 21 अन्न-जल-वायु सब तुमसे।
प्राण-शक्ति मिलती हमसे॥
Ann-Jal-Vayu Sab Tumse.
Pran-Shakti Milti Humse.
All food, water, and air ultimately come from you. The vital force (prana) that animates every living being is solar energy transformed — your grace flows through every breath we take.
चौपाई 22 ऋतु-परिवर्तन तुम करते।
वर्षा-शीत-ग्रीष्म भर देते॥
Ritu-Parivartan Tum Karte.
Varsha-Sheet-Grishma Bhar Dete.
You orchestrate the changing of seasons. Rain, winter, and summer — the entire annual cycle that makes agriculture possible and life beautiful — is governed by your position and movement through the sky.
चौपाई 23 मन में आत्म-विश्वास भरो।
आत्म-तेज अपार दो करो॥
Man Mein Atma-Vishwas Bharo.
Atma-Tej Apar Do Karo.
Fill our minds with self-confidence and inner trust. Grant us the boundless inner radiance of the soul — for as the sun shines without hesitation, teach us to walk through life with the same fearless, steady light.
चौपाई 24 प्रातः-काल उठकर पूजें।
सूर्य-ध्यान से मन को सींचें॥

Surya-Dhyan Se Man Ko Sinchen.

चौपाई 25 लाल-पुष्प और अर्घ्य-जल।
सूर्य-पूजा का है सब फल॥
Lal-Pushpa Aur Arghya-Jal.
Surya-Pooja Ka Hai Sab Phal.
Red flowers and water offered in arghya to the rising sun — these are the simple but powerful essentials of Surya worship. The fruit of this practice is health, clarity, prosperity, and divine grace.

शत्रु-विजय अवश्य हों प्राप्त करें॥

शत्रु-विजय का फल दिलाओ॥

मूर्खता-अज्ञान को हर दो॥
