Nav Kanj-Lochan, Kanj-Mukh, Kar-Kanj, Pad-Kanjarunam.
O mind, devotedly worship the compassionate Lord Ramachandra, who destroys the terrible fear of worldly existence. His eyes are like fresh lotuses, his face is like a lotus, his hands are like lotuses, and his feet shine with a rosy lotus hue.
दोहा 2 कंद मूल भोग करत, बन बास करत प्रभु लीला।
चरण कमल की सेवा करत, मिटत जग की पीड़ा॥

Charan Kamal Ki Seva Karat, Mitat Jag Ki Pida.
The Lord lived on roots and fruits in the forest, performing his divine play for the liberation of creation. Serving his lotus feet destroys all worldly sorrow and pain.

चौपाई 2 जय जय राम रोम रोम रटाऊँ।
राम-नाम निज हृदय बसाऊँ॥
Jai Jai Ram Rom Rom Rataun.
Ram-Nam Nij Hriday Basaun.
Let every pore of my body resound with "Jai Ram!" Let the name of Rama dwell permanently within my own heart, filling every breath with his divine presence.

सुमित्रा कौशल्या के चंदन॥

Sumitra Kaushalya Ke Chandan.
You are the beloved son of Dasharatha, king of Kosala. You are the sandalwood of cooling joy to mothers Sumitra and Kaushalya, whose lives found their highest fulfillment in you.
चौपाई 4 श्री अयोध्या के राजकुमार।
सगुण-ब्रह्म सचिदानंद अपार॥
Shri Ayodhya Ke Rajkumar.
Sagun-Brahm Sachidananda Apar.
You are the crown prince of the sacred city of Ayodhya. You are the form of the Supreme Brahman with attributes — eternal, conscious, and blissful without limit.
चौपाई 5 राम सुमिरन राम सुमिरन।
सुमिरत होत पाप-मय हरन॥

Sumrat Hot Pap-May Haran.
Remember Ram, remember Ram — the constant remembrance of Rama's name destroys the accumulated burden of all sins and purifies the heart completely.
चौपाई 6 सूर्यवंशी क्षत्रिय कुल भूषण।
ब्रह्म-रूप सच्चिदानंद पूर्ण॥
Suryavanshi Kshatriya Kul Bhushan.
Brahm-Roop Sachidananda Poorn.
You are the ornament of the Suryavanshi (solar dynasty) warrior lineage. In your divine form, you embody the fullness of Brahman — existence, consciousness, and bliss in perfect wholeness.
चौपाई 7 मर्यादा पुरुषोत्तम कहाऊँ।
भक्तों के संकट सब हटाऊँ॥
Maryada Purushottam Kahaun.
Bhakton Ke Sankat Sab Hataun.
You are called Maryada Purushottam — the supreme upholder of righteous limits. All the troubles and sorrows of your devotees are removed by your boundless grace.
चौपाई 8 जनक-सुता संग वन वन घूमे।
स्वर्ण-मृग देखि सीता झूमे॥
Janak-Suta Sang Van Van Ghume.
Swarna-Mrig Dekhi Sita Jhume.
You wandered through many forests with Janaki (Sita). When Sita was enchanted by the golden deer, it became the turning point of the divine drama of your earthly mission.
चौपाई 9 शबरी के बेर राम ने खाये।
भक्त-वत्सल प्रभु मन को भाये॥
Shabari Ke Ber Ram Ne Khaye.
Bhakt-Vatsal Prabhu Man Ko Bhaye.
Lord Rama lovingly ate the half-eaten berries offered by the aged tribal devotee Shabari. This act revealed you as the lover of devotees, accepting love over social convention.
चौपाई 10 सुग्रीव मित्रता निभाई।
बालि वध कर न्याय दिलाई॥
Sugriva Mitrata Nibhai.
Bali Vadh Kar Nyay Dilai.
You honored your friendship with Sugriva with absolute commitment. By slaying Vali, you delivered justice and restored Sugriva's kingdom and honor.
चौपाई 11 लंका पर चढ़ाई कीन्ही।
रावण को दारुण मति दीन्ही॥
Lanka Par Chadhai Kinhi.
Ravan Ko Darun Mati Dinhi.
You led a great assault on Lanka to rescue Sita. Ravana's evil intellect, which had led him to his own destruction, was the consequence of his arrogance in confronting righteousness.
चौपाई 12 रामेश्वर स्थापन कीन्हे।
सेतु बंधन हेतु शिव पूजन लीन्हे॥
Rameshwar Sthaapan Kinhe.
Setu Bandhan Hetu Shiv Pujan Linhe.
Before crossing to Lanka, you established the Rameshwaram Shivlinga and worshipped Lord Shiva — demonstrating that even the Divine honors the Divine in all its forms.
चौपाई 13 सेतु बाँधा नल-नील से।
सागर पार किया बल-बल से॥
Setu Bandha Nal-Nil Se.
Sagar Par Kiya Bal-Bal Se.
With the help of Nal and Neel, your army built the miraculous bridge across the ocean. By sheer divine strength and devotion, the impossible became possible.
चौपाई 14 मेघनाद को मारा लक्ष्मण ने।
कुंभकर्ण धराशायी किया पल में॥
Meghnad Ko Mara Lakshman Ne.
Kumbhakaran Dharashayi Kiya Pal Mein.
Lakshmana slew Meghnad (Indrajit) in fierce battle. The mighty Kumbhakarna, who could devour armies whole, was brought down in an instant by Rama's divine arrow.
चौपाई 15 रावण-वध करके सब उद्धारे।
त्रिभुवन में जय-जयकार पुकारे॥
Ravan-Vadh Karke Sab Uddhare.
Tribhuvan Mein Jai-Jaikar Pukare.
By slaying Ravana, you liberated all who were oppressed. The three worlds rang with shouts of victory, celebrating the triumph of righteousness over the mightiest of evils.
चौपाई 16 सीता को वापस ले आये।
अयोध्या में खूब छाये॥
Sita Ko Wapas Le Aaye.
Ayodhya Mein Khoob Chaaye.
You returned with Sita restored to your side. In Ayodhya, the entire city glowed with the joy of your homecoming — lamps, flowers, and jubilant hearts welcoming their Lord.
चौपाई 17 राज-तिलक हुआ प्रभु के माथे।
सगुण ब्रह्म प्रजा के साथे॥
Raj-Tilak Hua Prabhu Ke Mathe.
Sagun Brahm Praja Ke Sathe.
The royal tilak was placed upon your brow as King of Ayodhya. The Supreme Being in human form walked among his people as the ideal king, parent, and protector.
चौपाई 18 राम-राज्य में सब सुख पाये।
धर्म-अर्थ-काम-मोक्ष मिल आये॥
Ram-Rajya Mein Sab Sukh Paye.
Dharm-Arth-Kaam-Moksha Mil Aaye.
In the reign of Rama (Ram Rajya), every being attained happiness and fulfillment. All four purposes of life — righteousness, prosperity, love, and liberation — were freely available to all.
चौपाई 19 भरत ने प्रभु-पग-पादुका राखी।
अयोध्या की राजगद्दी की साखी॥
Bharat Ne Prabhu-Pad-Paduka Rakhi.
Ayodhya Ki Rajagaddi Ki Sakhi.
Bharata kept your sandals upon the throne as a sacred witness to your sovereignty. His act of loving renunciation stood as eternal testimony to brotherly devotion and selfless love.
चौपाई 20 लक्ष्मण सेवक महा उदारा।
सदा संग रहे तुम्हारे प्यारा॥
Lakshman Sevak Maha Udara.
Sada Sang Rahe Tumhare Pyara.
Lakshmana was your supremely generous and devoted companion. He walked by your side through every trial, embodying the highest ideal of brotherly loyalty and selfless service.
चौपाई 21 हनुमत-भक्ति अनूप निराली।
राम-नाम की लेकर थाली॥
Hanumat-Bhakti Anoop Nirali.
Ram-Nam Ki Lekar Thali.
Hanuman's devotion to you is incomparably beautiful and unique. Carrying the platter of your holy name, he stands as the greatest example of how a devotee should love God.
चौपाई 22 अत्री-अनसूया से मिले राम।
आशीर्वाद दिया पूर्ण काम॥
Atri-Anasuya Se Mile Ram.
Ashirvad Diya Poorn Kaam.
You met the sage Atri and the pious Anasuya in the forest. They blessed you and gifted divine ornaments to Sita, honoring the Lord who walked the path of dharma even in exile.
चौपाई 23 अगस्त्य मुनि ने आदित्य दिया।
युद्ध में जय का मंत्र किया॥
Agastya Muni Ne Aditya Diya.
Yuddh Mein Jai Ka Mantra Kiya.
Sage Agastya gifted you the Aditya Hridayam, the heart of the sun god. This sacred hymn gave you the strength and resolve needed to achieve final victory over Ravana.
चौपाई 24 केवट प्रेम से नाव चलाई।
चरण-वंदना करके मन जुड़ाई॥
Kevat Prem Se Nav Chalai.
Charan-Vandana Karke Man Judai.
The boatman Kevat ferried you across the Ganga with a heart full of love. Before rowing, he washed your lotus feet, so that their divine touch would not turn his boat to gold.
चौपाई 25 जटायु का उपकार न भूले।
धर्म-रक्षक पक्षी को प्रभु पूजे॥
Jatayu Ka Upkar Na Bhule.
Dharm-Rakshak Pakshi Ko Prabhu Puje.
You never forgot the sacrifice of Jatayu, the noble eagle who gave his life trying to save Sita. You honored him as a father and granted him liberation, showing that devotion transcends all forms.
चौपाई 26 विश्वामित्र के यज्ञ बचाये।
ताड़का-मारीच को मार भगाये॥
Vishwamitra Ke Yagya Bachaye.
Tadka-Marich Ko Mar Bhagaye.
In your youth, you protected sage Vishwamitra's sacred yajna from demon attacks. You slew Tadka and drove away Maricha, establishing yourself as the guardian of righteous sacrifice.
चौपाई 27 अहल्या उद्धार किया।
शिला से मानव रूप दिया॥
Ahalya Uddhar Kiya.
Shila Se Manav Roop Diya.
You redeemed Ahalya, the sage Gautama's wife who had been turned to stone by a curse. With the touch of your lotus feet, she was restored to her human form, freed from her long penitential suffering.
चौपाई 28 शिव-धनुष तोड़ सीता वरी।
जनक-राजा की शर्त पूरी करी॥
Shiv-Dhanush Tod Sita Vari.
Janak-Raja Ki Shart Puri Kari.
You broke the mighty bow of Shiva and won Sita's hand in the swayamvara. Fulfilling King Janaka's condition, you united your divine self with Sita, the incarnation of Lakshmi.
चौपाई 29 परशुराम का अभिमान तोड़ा।
शांत भाव से क्रोध को मोड़ा॥
Parashurama Ka Abhiman Toda.
Shaant Bhav Se Krodh Ko Moda.
You humbled the great warrior sage Parashurama's pride after the breaking of the bow. With serene dignity, you redirected his anger and revealed your divine nature without conflict.
चौपाई 30 राम नाम जपने से मुक्ति।
भव-बंधन से होती है शक्ति॥
Ram Nam Japne Se Mukti.
Bhav-Bandhan Se Hoti Hai Shakti.
Chanting the name of Rama leads to liberation. This name gives strength to break free from the bonds of worldly attachment and the endless cycle of birth and death.
चौपाई 31 राम नाम अजपा जाप जपो।
मन की मलिनता को आप नपो॥
Ram Nam Ajapa Jaap Japo.
Man Ki Malinata Ko Aap Napo.
Chant the name of Rama as the spontaneous, unstruck prayer within every breath. Measure and observe how this name gradually cleanses the impurities from the mind.
चौपाई 32 भक्तों की रक्षा सदा करो।
संकट मोचन हे राम हरो॥
Bhakton Ki Raksha Sada Karo.
Sankat Mochan He Ram Haro.
Always protect your devotees, O Lord. O Rama, the liberator from all troubles, remove every obstacle and hardship from the paths of those who take refuge in you.
चौपाई 33 राम दरबार में स्थान दो।
नित्य चरण का ध्यान दो॥
Ram Darbar Mein Sthan Do.
Nitya Charan Ka Dhyan Do.
Grant me a place in your divine court, O Rama. Bless me with the daily meditation upon your lotus feet, which is the highest fortune a soul can ever receive.
चौपाई 34 राम भक्ति का रस पिलाओ।
मुझको अपनी शरण बुलाओ॥
Ram Bhakti Ka Ras Pilao.
Mujhko Apni Sharan Bulao.
Let me drink the nectar of devotion to Rama. Call me into your divine shelter and never let me stray from the path of bhakti that leads straight to your lotus feet.
चौपाई 35 राम बिना जग सूना लागे।
राम मिलन को जीव जागे॥
Ram Bina Jag Suna Lage.
Ram Milan Ko Jeev Jage.
Without Rama, the world feels empty and desolate. Every soul ultimately awakens to seek union with you — for the deepest longing within all creation is the longing to return to its source.
चौपाई 36 कृपा-दृष्टि जब राम लगाते।
सब विघ्न-बाधा दूर हो जाते॥
Kripa-Drishti Jab Ram Lagate.
Sab Vighn-Badha Door Ho Jate.
When Rama bestows his gracious glance upon a devotee, all obstacles and adversities vanish instantly. His compassionate gaze is itself the greatest blessing and protection.
चौपाई 37 सियाराम सियाराम कहो।
प्रेम-भाव से आगे बढ़ो॥
Siyaram Siyaram Kaho.
Prem-Bhav Se Aage Badho.
Chant "Siyaram, Siyaram" — the names of Sita and Rama together. With a heart full of love, walk forward on the path of devotion; this divine name carries you across all of life's difficulties.
चौपाई 38 तुलसी-दास सुमिरि प्रभु नाम।
सदा जपत है राम-राम-राम॥
Tulsi-Das Sumiri Prabhu Nam.
Sada Japat Hai Ram-Ram-Ram.
Tulsidas, ever remembering the Lord's name, chants "Ram, Ram, Ram" ceaselessly. Following his example, let every devotee keep Rama's name alive on the tongue and in the heart.
चौपाई 39 राम चालीसा पाठ जो करई।
सकल मनोरथ सफल होई॥
Ram Chalisa Path Jo Karai.
Sakal Manorath Safal Hoi.
Whoever recites the Ram Chalisa with devotion shall find all their heartfelt wishes fulfilled. The divine Lord Rama himself listens to the sincere prayers of those who chant his glory.
चौपाई 40 राम-भक्त जन पावें सुख।
मिटे दुःख और सब दुख॥
Ram-Bhakt Jan Pawen Sukh.
Mite Dukh Aur Sab Dukh.
Devotees of Rama attain true happiness and lasting peace. All grief, misery, and suffering dissolve in the warmth of Rama's grace, leaving only the bliss of divine remembrance.
दोहा 3 राम चालीसा पाठ से, मिले सकल सुख-शांति।
राम कृपा से भव-तरन, मिटे सब भ्रम-भ्रांति॥
Ram Chalisa Path Se, Mile Sakal Sukh-Shanti.
Ram Kripa Se Bhav-Taran, Mite Sab Bhram-Bhranti.
By reciting the Ram Chalisa, all happiness and peace are attained. By Rama's grace, one crosses the ocean of worldly existence and all illusions and confusions are forever dispelled.
