The Chaturthi tithi, Wednesdays, and especially Ganesh Chaturthi in Bhadrapada. The Madhyahna (midday) muhurat is preferred on Ganesh Chaturthi.
Samagri (Items Needed)
- ◈Idol or image of Lord Ganesha
- ◈21 blades of durva grass

Puja Vidhi (Step by Step)
- 1 Install the Ganesha idol on a clean, decorated platform and take a Sankalp.
- 2 Invoke Lord Ganesha (avahan) and offer water and panchamrit.
- 3 Offer red flowers, durva grass, sindoor and akshat.
- 4 Light the lamp and incense and offer them.
- 5 Offer the modak or laddu bhog.
- 6 Recite the Ganesh mantra "Om Gam Ganapataye Namah" or the Ganesh Chalisa.
- 7 Perform the aarti and distribute prasad.
